The Definitive List: Best Memphis BBQ

Odd are you’ve caught more than one show on your DirectStarTV channels about the virtues of Memphis barbeque but if you’re here for a short time do you really know which joints to hit? Here is our definitive list of Memphis’ best BBQ restaurants:
Central Barbeque – This joint has 2 locations and you’ll know you’re in Memphis when you get that first bite of smoky tang. There are two sauces available so make your sandwich as wet and spicy as you like it.
Interstate BBQ – If you’ve ever wondered where the Food Network’s Neely’s started out, it’s right here. They’ve been slow roasting all manner of pork products here for decades and their dedication shows.
Rendezvous – Perhaps the most famous of all the Memphis barbeque shops, this place has been locally owned and run since the early 20th century. It’s cave-like inside but patrons don’t seem to care since all they really come for is the food.
BBQ Shop – Famous more for its sauce than its ‘cue, The Shop (as locals call it) has a “Dancing Pig BBQ Sauce” that you’ve got to taste to believe.
